Commentary
The necropolis of Dormelletto (via San Rocco / via Francesco Baracca) was partly excavated in 1987 and 2006; 123 tombs (cremation and inhumation) are known (complete edition and discussion of the material in Spagnolo Garzoli 2009). The site dates between the mid-3rd (LT C 1) and late 1st (LT D 2) centuries BC.
The inscription finds were made in the area excavated between September and December 2006 under the direction of the Soprintendenza per i Beni Archeologici del Piemonte in the course of rescue excavations on occasion of the demolition of the old scuola media and construction of the new building. See Spagnolo Garzoli 2007 for details.
