Commentary

The necropolis of Dormelletto ist not excavated in its entirety; so far, 123 tombs are known (Spagnolo Garzoli 2007: 254).

The inscription finds were made in an area that was was excavated between September and December 2006 under the direction of the Soprintendenza per i Beni Archeologici del Piemonte in the course of rescue excavations on occasion of the demolition of the old scuola media and construction of the new building. The excavation has uncovered 71 tombs (17 cremation burials and 54 inhumations), dated between the 3^rd and 1^st centuries BC. See Spagnolo Garzoli 2007 for details.
