Commentary

Similar "zig-zag"-ornaments before inscriptions are known from Greek and Etruscan contexts, see Gambari & Colonna (1986: 131, fn. 49, regarding the "zig-zag" cf. also Morandi 1999: p. 153 and the beaker from Gudo). The sigma: dextroverse, seven segments, is considerable normal for archaic Lepontic inscriptions. (Gambari & Colonna 1986: pp. 141-144)
