Commentary

Image in Pernet et al. 2006: pl. sub 385.3 (drawing).

The olpe (type 2.1, Lombardia 4 B) comes from grave 385 of the Giubiasco necropolis (Pernet et al. 2006: 318). The grave complex is described in Tori et al. 2004: 331 f.; on the classification of the object see Pernet et al. 2006: 213–218, 257, cat. 82. See also Ulrich 1914 I: 642.

The dating follows Pernet et al. 2006, who date the object typologically to the Augustan/Tiberian period and the coherent grave complex to the Augustan period; cf. De Marinis & Biaggio Simona 2000: 462, no. 536.
