Inscribed on the flat outside rim of the beaker (length 2.8 cm). The alphabet could be Lepontic with Latinised mu as well as straight-up Latin; considering the late dating and atypical object, the latter is maybe more likely (cf. Pernet et al., who count the inscription among the Latin ones). The sequence is probably an abbreviation of a personal name; a potential comparandum musu is attested in the Cisalpine Celtic corpus, but the underlying name is not necessarily Celtic.
