Inscribed in two places on the shoulder of the pitcher. The first letter of the three-letter sequence {{c||L2}} (?) is read as retrograde and inverted lambda by Morandi, interpreting ''lob'' as an abbreviation of a personal name. Beta indicates the Latin alphabet, but the first letter is not clearly identifiable; both parts of the inscription and their relation to each other are unclear.
Inscribed in two places on the shoulder of the pitcher, with a single beta followed by the sequence ?''ob'' (length 3.5 cm) at a distance of 5.7 cm. In the three-letter sequence, the first letter {{c||L2}} (?) is read as retrograde and inverted lambda by Morandi, who interprets ''lob'' as an abbreviation of a personal name. The circle of omicron seems clear, but in both letters additional scratches of uncertain relevance make the reading uncertain. Beta indicates the Latin alphabet, but both parts of the inscription and their relation to each other are unclear; possibly pseudo-script.

Commentary

Images in Morandi 2004: tav. XX.125 (photos). Examined for LexLep on 30th April 2022.

Inscribed in two places on the shoulder of the pitcher, with a single beta followed by the sequence ?ob (length 3.5 cm) at a distance of 5.7 cm. In the three-letter sequence, the first letter L2 s (?) is read as retrograde and inverted lambda by Morandi, who interprets lob as an abbreviation of a personal name. The circle of omicron seems clear, but in both letters additional scratches of uncertain relevance make the reading uncertain. Beta indicates the Latin alphabet, but both parts of the inscription and their relation to each other are unclear; possibly pseudo-script.
