Commentary

The scratches on the ceramic fragment, all incomplete, were read as dextroverse ]risti or ]isisti by Casini and Motta in the original publication. The two reading options are entirely plausible, even though sinistroverse writing direction is equally possible. It must be pointed out, however, that the sequence st speaks against a Celtic form – see the word page for further considerations.
The second graffito from Gamsen which was published as an inscription by Casini and Motta has not been included in LexLep; see EX·3.
