Commentary

It could be a nom. sg. of an u-stem. *Iassu- with the element assu- or astu- like in Assu-talo-, Di-assu-māro-, Di-astu-māro- and so on. <z> can be read /ss/ or /*st/ like in -kozis: di-atsu-. di̯- > i̯-, or alternatively the i in this transcription could be read as a punction mark (Lejeune 1971: 130-131, cf. Markey & Mees 2004: 85-86). Therefore see azus. The <z> could be a morphological confusion for <t> (Motta 2000: 208, Marinetti & Prosdocimi 1994: 47-48).
