Attestation: TI·39 (piuonei:tekialui:lala) (1)
Language: Celtic
Word Type: proper noun
Semantic Field: personal name

Grammatical Categories: dat. sg. masc.
Stem Class: on

Morphemic Analysis: biu̯-onei̯
Phonemic Analysis: /bionei̯/
Meaning: 'to Biu'

Commentary

Masculine PN with individualising on-suffix meaning 'the living one' (cf. the names based on biu̯ont-) or hypocoristic of a compound with biu̯- as first element, cf. Gaulish biuonia (CIL V 4487; see Stüber 2005: 101 on the semantic motivation). The form is a rare attestation of the archaic consonant stem dat. sg. ending -ei̯.
