== Commentary ==
Based on the working hypothesis that Etruscan and Raetic are related languages, Rix is able to add some explanations to the Raetic grammar, and to propose a "Urtyrsenisch" (Proto-Tyrsenian) as common ancestor of Etruscan, Raetic, and Lemnian. Concerning Celtic in Northern Italy he mentions:
* The [https://www.univie.ac.at/raetica/wiki/SL-2.1 inscription on the Negau helmet A], written in the Sanzeno alphabet, is seen as Celtic according to {{bib|Prosdocimi & Scardigli 1976}}: 224 f. [p. 6].
* The inscription [[index::VR·19|PID 248]] may be witten in the Lepontic alphabet judging by the letter forms [p. 10].
* The Lepontic inscriptions [[index::MI·7|PID 280]] and [[index::TI·36.2|PID 269]] contain adjectival patronyms [p. 13].
