After sporadic finds in the area north of the hamlet Madonna delle Bozzole, excavations of a late La Tène/Roman necropolis (1st c. BC–early 2nd c. AD) were made between 1976 and 1991; see Bottinelli & Melley 1999 for an overview of the finds, and Frontini 1985: 134–140 on selected individual graves.
