Commentary

The necropolis of Dormelletto (via San Rocco / via Francesco Baracca) was partly excavated in 1987 and 2006; 123 tombs (cremation and inhumation) are known (complete edition and discussion of the material in Spagnolo Garzoli 2009). The site dates between the mid-3^rd (LT C 1) and late 1^st (LT D 2) centuries BC.

The inscription finds were made in the area excavated between September and December 2006 under the direction of the Soprintendenza per i Beni Archeologici del Piemonte in the course of rescue excavations on occasion of the demolition of the old scuola media and construction of the new building.
