Commentary

Small plateau in the hamlet Argnou at ca. 800 m a.s.l. which provides an excellent view of the Rhône valley between Loèche and Martigny. Archaeological finds include the remains of a Bronze age settlement, a La Tène settlement (4th–3rd century BC), and a Gallo-Roman villa (3rd–5th century AD), the latter excavated in 2003. See Rubat Borel & Paccolat 2008: 127 f.
