Commentary
Châtillon is the site of a middle to late La Tène settlement found in 1990 during the extension of the motorway tollbooth. The pre-Roman settlement is covered by a Roman Imperial age settlement, and appears to have been abandoned and destroyed intentionally. The archaeological finds include local pottery as well as as items associated with the Celts. See Mollo Mezzena 1994: 166–179 for details.
