Commentary

Late Iron-age necropolis in Giubiasco, located c. 700 m south-west of the longer-known Giubiasco necropolis near the train station (Giubiasco-Stazione). 31 inhumations in 29 tombs, dated to the 4th–2nd century BC (La Tène B1–C2), were excavated before building work in 2013. The tombs are rectangular, with walls constructed out of small stone blocks, and covered with stone slabs. See Cardani Vergani 2014 and, in greater detail, Tori et al. 2022.
