Fragment of an unvarnished vessel of blackish clay ({{bib|Garovaglio 1877}}: 36, no. 40), found in [[Rondineto]] in unspecified circumstances ({{bib|Barelli 1877}}: 4). Garovaglio's drawing inaccurately shows a complete rim, where the fragment only preserves a slight curvature. {{bib|Tibiletti Bruno 1969b}}: 188 identifies the fragment as that of a foot, but it looks more like part of a wall – probably of a patera considering the flatness, cf. Morandi – with the edge of the rim. Generic dating to G III A above is given in accordance with the overall dating of the [[Rondineto]] graffiti ({{bib|De Marinis & Motta 1991}}: 214), cf. Morandi.

Commentary

Images in Barelli 1877/Garovaglio 1877: tav. III.40 (drawing), Oberziner 1883: tav. XIX.14 (drawing copied from Garovaglio), Tibiletti Bruno 1969b: 277, tav. V.6 (photo).

Fragment of an unvarnished vessel of blackish clay (Garovaglio 1877: 36, no. 40), found in Rondineto in unspecified circumstances (Barelli 1877: 4). Garovaglio's drawing inaccurately shows a complete rim, where the fragment only preserves a slight curvature. Tibiletti Bruno 1969b: 188 identifies the fragment as that of a foot, but it looks more like part of a wall – probably of a patera considering the flatness, cf. Morandi – with the edge of the rim. Generic dating to G III A above is given in accordance with the overall dating of the Rondineto graffiti (De Marinis & Motta 1991: 214), cf. Morandi.
