The incomplete sequence is most likely a personal name with base {{m||u̯os-}} and suffix {{m||-(i)i̯-}}; the last preserved letter upsilon could represent the ''on''-stem nominative {{m||-ū}} or, typologically more likely, the beginning of the ''o''-stem dative ending {{m||-ūi̯}}. {{bib|Delamarre 2007}}: 235, 237) lists the onomastic element ''u̯osso''- as an (archaic) variant of {{m||u̯ađ-|u̯asso-}} 'servant', but considering the high dating of the [[TI·38|inscription]] the dental element would be expected to be spelled with san reflecting tau gallicum not yet assimilated to /{{p||ss}}/.
