Reading uncertain in [[VA·28.2]]. The attested form is too fragmentary to be amenable to an etymological analysis. The sequence ''sa-'' appears also in {{w||sasamos}}, {{w||sapsutai}}, {{w||sabi}}, {{w||saśadis}}.

The short sequence is most probably an abbreviation of a personal name – cf. especially sasamos, sapsutai and sabi (less likely, as Latin) at the same site, though any other of the myriad Gaulish names in sa° (see Delamarre 2007: 157–162) are possible.
