Commentary

The attested form is too fragmentary to be amenable to an etymological analysis. Morandi (1999: 168, fn. 60) presumes that it must be the same abbreviation in TI·22 (Locarno) and VB·7 (Ornavasso). The sequence kri doesn't appear in any other inscription.
