Description: Specifies the particular variant of a character in the North Italic script, including its direction of writing.
Type: String

The format to be used is A2d, A2s, Es, Ed, where the upper-case letter stands for the archigrapheme, the numeral indicates the variant as defined on the character's page, and d stands for dextroverse, s for sinistroverse. In the description of the letter, the direction of writing pertains to the direction the letter is looking alone. Considerations of the direction of writing of the entire inscription do not come into play here. The direction of writing of a letter can be undeterminable on occasion. The direction of the letter S (sigma) is determined by its two top-most segments: when they open towards the left, the letter is considered sinistroverse, but dextroverse, when they open to the right.
