Inscribed across the foot of the bowl. A break slightly damages the lower parts of most letters, but the reading is unambiguous. The oblique line near the first alpha is surely part of the concentric circling lines which cover the whole surface. Upsilon is not closed at the bottom (cf. BG·2.1). Morandi (2004) mentions that sigma has four bars, though his drawing only shows three; the fourth bar (possibly even three more bars) is faintly visible in the colour close-up in Morandi 2007. Final alpha features very long bars.
aśuesa is an ā-stem, most probably feminine personal name. San appears to denote /d/: adu̯esā (see the word page).
