Commentary

The Seminario Maggiore in Verona and its immediate surroundings (map in Cavalieri Manasse 2016: 374, fig. 1), on the eastern bank of the Adige, are the site of an ancient necropolis, which was excavated between 2005 and 2009. The necropolis is sandwiched between the river and the ancient Via Postumia (today Via Giardino Giusti), and is thought to belong to the settlement on the Colle di San Pietro 500 m to the north. For details about the graves' distribution, dating, burial types, and grave goods, see Cavalieri Manasse 2016.
