The letter epsilon, possibly following an Etruscan numeral, is interpreted as an abbreviation of a unit of measurement by Pellegrini (in Stjernquist 1967: 135). Stjernquist (p. 135 f.) assumes the number to be a measure of capacity referring to the volume of the cist, and hypothesises about the relation of Etruscan capacity measurements to those used in Greece.
