Morandi observes that the application of the inscription on the inside of the bowl indicates that the bowl was thereby removed from practical everyday use. Possibly an abbreviation of a word or name containing the morpheme tou̯t-. Morandi suggests lexical tou̯tā 'people' marking the bowl as public property; an abbreviation of a personal name in tou̯t- is at least equally likely (cf. Morandi 2007: 304, no. 39).
