Whatmough read a letter t based on Garovaglio's disembodied drawing of an , but the mark, which is drawn across the whole foot, is more likely to belong with similar incised or painted cross- and asterisk-shapes on the bases of ceramic vessels of the Golasecca culture (cf. Tibiletti Bruno 1969b: 226 f., no. 66, Solinas "[s]egno a croce").
