Inscribed on the bottom of the bowl near the rim of the foot; Gambari says sinistroverse, Morandi dextroverse, the drawing shows mixed orientation of the letters. Reading penilas from Gambari, a feminine name in the genitive, conceivably that of the owner of the vessel and maybe of the person buried in the grave.
