The site between via Santa Maria alla Porta, via Gorani and via Brisa was excavated between 2008 and 2011 by the Soprintendenza per i Beni Archeologici della Lombardia. Beneath Roman structures – an early Imperial domus and a late Imperial palace –, Mediaeval and Modern layers, pre-Roman finds dating between the 5th (Golasecca III A) and late 1st century BC were made in the eastern part of the excavated area. See Ceresa Mori et al. 2011 for an overview.
