Inscribed "sull'emisfero inferiore" of the hydria, apparently complete despite the damage sustained by the [[CO·1 Gravedona|vessel]]. Barelli speaks of "due lettere", but his drawing shows, beside kappa and upsilon, a small St. Andrew's cross under the oblique hasta of upsilon. The reading {{w||kut}} goes back to Whatmough {{bib|PID}}: 96 (based on the drawing; also {{bib|Pisani 1964}}: 283 f., no. 120 I, {{bib|Tibiletti Bruno 1978}}: 146, and {{bib|Gambari & Colonna 1988}}: 134, who compare it to [[VA·32]]), but {{w||ku}} seems equally possible. Both may be abbreviations of personal names, see further on the word pages.

Image in Barelli 1879b: 27 (drawing).

Inscribed "sull'emisfero inferiore" of the hydria, apparently complete despite the damage sustained by the vessel. Barelli speaks of "due lettere", but his drawing shows, beside kappa and upsilon, a small St. Andrew's cross under the oblique hasta of upsilon. The reading kut goes back to Whatmough PID: 96 (based on the drawing; also Pisani 1964: 283 f., no. 120 I, Tibiletti Bruno 1978: 146, and Gambari & Colonna 1988: 134, who compare it to VA·32), but ku seems equally possible. Both may be abbreviations of personal names, see further on the word pages.
