Large, roughly rectangular slab of local stone ({{bib|Morandi 2004}}: 583), the lower part of a stela, found during the excavation of the mediaeval cemetery in the church S. Lorenzo, beside numerous reused stelae from Roman times. Fragmentary bronze bangles dated to La Tène C 1 which were also found at the site may indicate that the cemetery had an Iron-age phase. (See {{bib|Gambari 1998d}} and also the entry on the [https://raptor.cultura.gov.it/mappa.php RAPTOR map].) Below the inscription, next to each other, a sign made up of two back-to-back semicircles and, on the right, a large four-spoked wheel (cf. [[NO·21 San Bernardino di Briona]]).

{{bib|Morandi 2004}}: 583 notes the possible finding of the stela's upper part in May 2001; this is confirmed by {{bib|Dupraz 2019}}: 62, n. 10, who reports a personal communication from Gambari according to which at least a section of the upper part of the stela, preserving a piece of the inscription, was recovered, but not yet published. The find has to our knowledge remained unpublished; enquiries are being made to the responsible Soprintendenza.

Commentary

Image in Gambari 1998: tav. XCIX (photo).

Large, roughly rectangular slab of local stone (Morandi 2004: 583), the lower part of a stela, found during the excavation of the mediaeval cemetery in the church S. Lorenzo, beside numerous reused stelae from Roman times. Fragmentary bronze bangles dated to La Tène C 1 which were also found at the site may indicate that the cemetery had an Iron-age phase. (See Gambari 1998d and also the entry on the RAPTOR map.) Below the inscription, next to each other, a sign made up of two back-to-back semicircles and, on the right, a large four-spoked wheel (cf. NO·21 San Bernardino di Briona).

Morandi 2004: 583 notes the possible finding of the stela's upper part in May 2001; this is confirmed by Dupraz 2019: 62, n. 10, who reports a personal communication from Gambari according to which at least a section of the upper part of the stela, preserving a piece of the inscription, was recovered, but not yet published. The find has to our knowledge remained unpublished; enquiries are being made to the responsible Soprintendenza.
