Commentary

First published in Morandi 1999: 168.

Images in Morandi 1999: 193, pl.VI.3 (photo) and 168 (drawing).

The letters R3 sK s are inscribed clearly on the shoulder of the bottle close to the neck. Morandi (also 2004) includes a vertical line at a distance to the left of the letters in the reading (kr i) and compares kri on VB·7; he judges a similar line to the right of the letters to be accidental. Cf. also Tibiletti Bruno 1978: 144 (kr(i)) and De Marinis & Biaggio Simona 2000: 462, no. 541 (kr).
