Commentary

Reading of both possible attestations uncertain, see CO·66 and VR·19.

If not a chimera, the form is most likely a hypocoristic masculine on-stem personal name; no good etymology can be offered for the base/first element of the compound name – maybe kollīu̯- = affirmative or equative kom- + *līu̯o- 'colour, glow'? A handful of names in col- (colia, colianus (Liguria), collo, collus) are listed in Delamarre 2007: 217 et passim. Cf. koliuetu.
