Commentary
Reading of the single attestation not entirely certain, see VR·19.
The form is most likely to be a masculine on-stem PN, though this interpretation must be considered provisional in the absence of a convincing analysis. Cf. maybe coluedio (Meid 2005: 265, Delamarre 2007: 70)?
Rhŷs 1914: 69 ff. suggests a Celtic nickname koli-u̯edu 'holly tree' – this is the most obvious option for segmentation, but 1. the Celtic 'holly'-word is consistently attested with an n-suffix PC *kolino- (LEIA: C-270, Matasović 2009 s.v., Kroonen 2013 s.v. *hulisa-), and 2. there is no explanation of e in the second element PC *u̯idu- 'wood'. -etu could be either of the suffixes -et- (plus individualising -on) or -ēd-, or a second element in a compound ēt- 'pasture, land', all of which would leave a base koliu- with problematic iu in place of the stem/composition vowel – maybe kollīu̯- = affirmative or equative kom- + *līu̯o- 'colour, glow'? Cf. koliu.
