Commentary
First published in Poggi 1879: 312 ff. (no. 52).
The object, part of the collection of Amilcare Ancona (Ancona 1880: 32-33, n. 109, pl. XI, n. 7), was implied to be lost by Whatmough (PID no. 248), but found and autopsied anew by Morandi in 2001 (Morandi 2001: 20, no. 17), who writes that the piece is in the possesion of Dr A. Piccoli of the Ancona collection in Brescia (2004). The object data given above are taken from Morandi, who does not provide an image of the vessel, but points out that it is of the same type as BS·7 Brescia, BS·18 Remedello, BS·19 Remedello, BS·20 Remedello and BG·18 Parre. The object is said to come from the area of Verona, but the exact find place is unknown.
