Commentary

Images in Frontini 1985: tav. 15.8 (drawing = Roncoroni 2014: 140, fig. 8.1), Roncoroni 2014: 169, fig. 7 (photo).

Five tiled graves, possibly part of a larger necropolis, were found and destroyed in autumn 1970 on plot 52 during building work. Only a few of the objects from the graves came to the Soprintendenza via local school teacher Stefano Dotti (see Roncoroni 2014 for details about the find history, the objects, and the reconstruction of the exact find site). The inscribed cup, separated from the other finds and displayed in glass case no. 1 at the Soprintendenza in the Palazzo Reale (Milano), is recorded as lost by Roncoroni 2014: 166, 174, no. 1, but described by Frontini 1985: 105, no. 1. Dating according to Frontini 1985: 105 and Roncoroni 2014: 174.
