Inscribed on the inside bottom of the bowl; the reading appears to be unambiguous (see also Morandi 1999: 185, n. 103, De Marinis & Motta 2007: 137). The sequence rik, which also occurs in a similar position on a black-glazed bowl from Gottolengo from the same timeframe (see BS·9), can be interpreted as an abbreviation of a personal name (see further on the word page).
