Commentary

La Tène necropolis discovered and destroyed during work in a sand pit in 1969 and 1970. Furniture from eight inhumation and cremation graves was salvaged by Piero Lucini and kept in the civic library of Gottolengo; it is mostly unedited. See De Marinis & Motta 2007: 137 f. and the entry on the RAPTOR map (CALPRBS 743). The black-glazed cup BS·11 Gottolengo, reported to have been found in Bagnolo Mella, has been argued to also come from this necropolis.
