Inscribed upside-down in large, neat letters on the wall of the cup; all letters are damaged by a horizontal break which does not impede the reading. The shape of alpha with two hastae, as opposed to the standard late Lepontic form
, is probably due to its greater similarity with Latin
(cf. BG·22, BG·29, BG·36.1 and BG·36.2). The form is most likely a hypocoristic on-stem personal name (Morandi 2007: 299 f., no. 27) or an abbreviation.
