Commentary

Patera of black-glazed ware, partially reconstructed from fragments found in tomb 3 of the Colabiolo section of the Verdello necropolis. See Perani 2003: 188, no. 34 for a detailed description, and ibid. 184–192 and Fortunati & Corti 2003: 163 f. for details about the grave and its inventory. In the same grave was found BG·29 Verdello as well as a bowl of black-glazed ware (St 139459) bearing a Latin graffito (Morandi 2003: 125, no. 1 and fig. 1). Dating according to Fortunati 2007: 591 for Colabiolo; Morandi 2004 gives the 1st century BC.
