Commentary
Information about the finding from the Achivio Centrale dello Stato in Rome given by Morandi: "calotta di selce" found in or shortly before 1882 in a heap of river stones left behind by labourers in the locality called "Campo dei Fiori" near Varallo Pombia, and transported to the Canonica in Novara.
