Commentary

Image in Marchesini & Stifter 2018: 154, fig. 4.5.8 (photo).

Patera with black varnish found in an earth-cut pit-grave (3–5 year old child, unknown sex, head pointing north, facing west, incomplete skeleton) together with rich burial equipment (pottery, small metal objects, a lamp and a bronze coin) (Marchesini & Stifter 2018: 154; Solinas 2016: 377). For the dating see Solinas 2016: 375.

On the outside, right beside the foot, an upside-down dextroverse Latin pi with open pocket, probably a potter's mark (8a in Marchesini & Stifter 2018).
