Patronym in the dative formed from a personal name ''telios''. The best comparanda for the base are names in ''dell''-, especially the formally equivalent ''delli̯os'', ''delli̯ā'', which have a wide distribution in Transalpine Gaul (e.g. {{bib|CIL}} XII 5011 {{tr|lat|dellia}} [Narbonne], s. {{bib|Delamarre 2007}}: 219 et passim). The group may be connected to a verbal root {{m||dell-}} 'sprout' (MW ''deillyaw'' 'emerge from' < PIE *''dʰelh₁''- 'flow out' as per Schumacher {{bib|KP}}: 257–259). Patronym in the dative formed from a personal name telios. The best comparanda for the base are names in dell-, especially the formally equivalent delli̯os, delli̯ā, which have a wide distribution in Transalpine Gaul (e.g. CIL XII 5011 dellia [Narbonne], s. Delamarre 2007: 219 et passim). The group may be connected to a verbal root dell- 'sprout' (MW deillyaw 'emerge from' < PIE *dʰelh₁- 'flow out' as per Schumacher KP: 257–259).
