Commentary
Lejeune 1971: 129 assumes that prikou is an abbreviation of a compound personal name with first element brīg- and a second element starting in u̯° (cf. brigouix CIL V 4710). Final -ou is more likely, however, to reflect the on-stem nominative singular ending -ū (see the inscription page and cf. Marinetti & Prosdocimi 1994: 44), in which case prikou is a hypocorism of a compound in brīg- – brigo is not attested, but cf. the coin legend RIG M-76 brico (with ⟨c⟩ for /g/, cf. KGP: 100, unless from briccos 'spotted', see DLG: 86, De Bernardo Stempel 1999: 513). See also Tibiletti Bruno 1978: 162.
