Commentary
Images in Lejeune 1987: pl. XIII (photo = Solinas 1995: tav. LXIXb), Piana Agostinetti 1972: 104, fig. 89.6 (drawing), Graue 1974: Taf. 30.3 (drawing), Morandi 1999: pl. IX.1 (photo) = Morandi 2004: tav. X.48).
Vaso a trottola with two white circular bands painted on the shoulder, found in the inhumation grave no. 84 of the San Bernardo necropolis (Bianchetti 1895: 145 with grave inventory). While the grave inventory belongs typologically in Graue II (LT D1), the coin NM·5 indicates a dating between 80 BC and 14 AD; since the coin is hardly worn (Graue 1974: 19), it may have gone into the grave soon after being struck, which allows for a dating of the grave to the middle of the first half of the 1st c. BC at the earliest. See also Piana Agostinetti 1972: 104 f., Graue 1974: 228, Tibiletti Bruno 1981: 162, Morandi 1999: 172, no. 17, Piana Agostinetti 1997–1999 II: 57.
