Inscribed on the inside bottom of the patera (length of remains 5.2 cm); all three preserved letters are damaged in the upper area. Read variously ]uls[ by Poggi 1879: 311, no. 43 (also Oberziner 1883: 145), ]uạs[ by Pauli 1885: 9 f., no. 18 f (also Giussani 1902: 45, Rhŷs 1913: 39, III.1.1f, Rhŷs 1914: 8), alternatively ]sal[, ]aus}}[ or ]sup[ by Whatmough PID: 101, no. 290. More plausible are Tibiletti Bruno 1969b: 197, no. 16 sinistroverse sḷạ[ (also Solinas and Morandi) or sụạ[. Since the bar of the second letter is shorter than the straight hasta, lambda seems the better choice; sigma may have featured a fourth bar and been considerably taller than preserved. For the letter by the breaking edge, both alpha and epsilon seem possible (also kappa, if the second letter should be upsilon after all). The distance between sigma and lambda is rather large, and it cannot be excluded that a damaged dot-shaped mark between the letter is an intentional punct (of unclear function).
