If correct, tuni may be an abbreviation of a personal name; a genitive is unlikely in the context of attestation. Comparanda include names in dun(n)- (see Delamarre 2007: 91 f.), e.g. CIL V 5618 dunnonis (gen., Castelseprio – the name of the father of a surica), formed from the base dunn- 'brown' or dūn- 'fort' (DLG: 154–156), as well as rarer tun(n)-, e.g. CIL V 7311 tunnius (Susa).
