''lala'' instead of {{w||pala}}
Though few data are available due to the early loss of the document (see the object page), the drawings provided by Monti and Fabretti, both of whom saw the inscription, do not indicate significant uncertainties about the shapes of the letters and frame. The third sequence ''lala'' has since {{bib|Pauli 1885}}: 71 been interpreted as a writing error for {{w||pala}}. The inscription thus contains the standard version of the funerary formula with individual name and patronym in {{m||-al-}} in the dative followed by {{w||pala}} (see the word pages for details).

Commentary

First published in Monti 1860: 59.

Images in Monti 1860: 59 (drawing = CII: tav. I.2ter), CII: tav. LVIII (drawing = Oberziner 1883: 168 = Pauli 1885: Taf. I.14 = Giussani 1902: 35, fi. 4 = Tibiletti Bruno 1990b: 81 [all redrawn more or less accurately]).

Though few data are available due to the early loss of the document (see the object page), the drawings provided by Monti and Fabretti, both of whom saw the inscription, do not indicate significant uncertainties about the shapes of the letters and frame. The third sequence lala has since Pauli 1885: 71 been interpreted as a writing error for pala. The inscription thus contains the standard version of the funerary formula with individual name and patronym in -al- in the dative followed by pala (see the word pages for details).

Dating according to De Marinis & Motta 1991: 206, who classify the document as their type C based on Fabretti's drawing of the frame (with stylised feet and eyes).
