Latinised ''on''-stem personal name ''cipō'' in the genitive (cf. {{bib|Schürr 2007}}: 343). The name finds hardly any comparanda in Gaulish; cf. at most the potter's name ''cipario'' listed by {{bib|Delamarre 2007}}: 66. Latinised on-stem personal name cipō in the genitive (cf. Schürr 2007: 343). The name finds hardly any comparanda in Gaulish; cf. at most the potter's name cipario listed by Delamarre 2007: 66. If /i/ changes with /e/ (or /ī/ with /ē/), we may compare the only slighly better connected kepi at Garlasco. Alternatively, the name may be derived from the Latin gentilicium cipius of the prominent Campanian metalworking clan.
