Commentary

Image in Tibiletti Bruno 1977b: 107 (photo).

Pyxis ("vaso a rocchetto"), "[d]a vecchi scavi" (Tibiletti Bruno 1977b: 107). Given to the museum in 1892 (Morandi). Filed as coming from Rondineto by Tibiletti, but Morandi reports that according to the museum's records the find place is Galliano in Cantù – Morandi notes that Galliano is a fraction of Eupilio, but the name probably refers to the area of the basilica San Vincenzo. Measurements and dating from Morandi. Cf. VA·2 Cantello, TI·48 Giubiasco.
