Commentary
Gambari 2007: 258 f. analyses °alos as the patronymic suffix -al-, but this does not explain the use of san instead of sigma and leaves an underlying individual name not akluśamos, as posited by Gambari, but unsusual akluśamou̯os. Also unlikely is Gambari's analysis of aklu- as an adjective *akluo-, interpreted as a variant of akro- 'high'. We prefer an analysis as a compound PN adklutsamo-u̯alos 'most famous ruler', with /d/ assimilated before /k/ (cf. aclutius, KGP: 110, Delamarre 2007: X) and -samo instead of -isamo (see the morpheme page). See the inscription page for the reading of san as /ts/.
